When You Visit
Most people are hesitant to attend a worship service in a place and with a group of people they are not familiar with. To help alleviate your fears, we would like to tell a little bit of what you can expect when you visit.
Courtesy & Kindness
As you come into the building you will be greeted warmly by a friendly group of men and women. We are here to share with you the message of God’s word, and we want to do so with courtesy and kindness to you, “speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15).
Family
You and your family are important to God, and to us. In a day and time when family values are being attacked, we aim to be a people and provide a place where families can grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
We feel confident that you will find in us a group of Christians who believe in the foundation of family as God would have it.
God, through His precious word, has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3). In His word, His people are brother and sisters. He Himself is our Father.
Our Worship Services
Our worship services may surprise you in their simplicity. “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints” (1Corinthians 14:33).
The religious world is filled with confusion as to exactly what it is that God wants. Despite what many think, God has given us, through His word, very clear guidelines concerning worship. Jesus said, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24). This means exactly what it says.
Every Sunday, being the first day of every week, we meet together for a period of worship. It’s not about entertainment, it’s about God.
During our time of worship we . . . read from the Bible (1Timothy 4:13); sing songs of praise (Matthew 26:30 and Colossians 3:16); observe the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7); give a voluntary offering of our money into a common treasury (1Corinthians 16:1-2 and 2Corinthians 9:6-9); pray (1Thessalonians 5:16-18); and listen to a sermon presented from the word of God (Acts 20:7).
